The All India Men's Senior Selection Committee has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa. Suryakumar Yadav will take the helm as captain, as the Men in Blue gear up for their intense preparations for the T20 World Cup in 2026. Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya are making their comeback to the team after recovering from injuries that kept them off the field for a while. Gill had been dealing with a neck spasm he picked up during the recent Test match against the Proteas in Kolkata. Meanwhile, Hardik was sidelined after sustaining an injury during the team's victorious run in the 2025 Asia Cup. Recently, Hardik made waves by returning to 20-over cricket with a standout performance for Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2025, where he played a spectacular innings that helped his team secure a win. However, Gill's participation in the series hinges on him getting the green light from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) regarding his fitness. The wicketkeeping duties will be shared by Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson, with Tilak Varma also included in the mix.
