The highly anticipated clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the 2026 T20 World Cup is set to unfold on February 15. While the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have yet to release the official schedule, it’s widely believed that the tournament will kick off on February 7 and run through March 8, 2026. Colombo to host IND vs PAK on February 15 Earlier this year, the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reached an agreement to hold India vs Pakistan matches at neutral venues. With Sri Lanka confirmed as a co-host, it’s expected that this marquee matchup will take place in Colombo. As reported by RevSportz, India is slated to begin their T20 World Cup journey against the USA, who co-hosted the last edition of the tournament. However, it’s still unclear if this will be the tournament's opening match. There are strong indications that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be the venue for both the opening game and the final. Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is in the running to host one of the semifinals, but the other venue remains unconfirmed. Pakistan will play all their matches in Sri Lanka, and if they make it to the semifinals, they won’t be playing in India. The other three Indian venues under consideration are Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has finalized Colombo and Pallekele, with either Dambulla or Hambantota expected to be the third venue. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which hasn’t been allowed to host any cricket matches since July due to safety concerns, is likely to be used for warm-up matches. The Bengaluru court has ruled the ground unfit for large gatherings, and until it passes a safety inspection, the BCCI will continue to overlook it.
