New Zealand cricketer Rachin Ravindra is keenly looking forward to the test against India at Bengaluru, which becomes all the more special because of his roots in Bengaluru. Rachin's parents, Ravi Krishnamurthy and Deepa, are originally from Bengaluru, and his grandparents still live there. In an interaction with media, quoted by PTI, before the first Test, Rachin said that his family members are going to appear in good numbers to watch the match, including his dad, who is traveling from Wellington to watch the game. It's almost the "pinch-me" moment for Rachin in his cricket journey. Rachin said: "It's something different about playing a Test match. You're here for five days and it's a tradition, you know, Test cricket's the pinnacle. I guess it makes it extra significant because of the family connection." He added: "There'll be a bunch of them in the crowd and I know Dad will be here watching. So those moments, you know, you pinch yourself on the journey and for this it's definitely one."
