Ravichandran Ashwin matched the legendary Sachin Tendulkar by scoring back-to-back hundreds in Test matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ashwin achieved this on Day 1 of the first Test against Bangladesh, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, on Thursday, September 19. In 2021, Ashwin scored his first Test century at home when he made 106 runs in the second Test at Chepauk against England. Whereas Tendulkar scored centuries in consecutive Tests while batting at the same ground. His fantastic numbers include 155* against Australia in 1998, 136 against Pakistan in 1999, and 126 against Australia in 2001. Tendulkar is the most successful player with the most Test hundreds at Chepauk with five hundreds. Sunil Gavaskar stands second with three centuries. Ashwin now joins a special group of cricketers, Allan Border and Kapil Dev among others, who each have two Test hundreds at Chepauk.
