On day 1 of the fourth Test at Melbourne, Jasprit Bumrah was seen suffering from a little strain on the calf of his left leg as the physio walked in for a treatment. It happened during the drinks break after the 75th over. However, after a bit of treatment, Bumrah walked back to the dressing room. Thankfully, no discomfort was spotted while he was walking back, as he wasn't fumbling at all. With Bumrah's departure, Devdutt Paddikal came in as a substitute fielder. Before leaving, Bumrah has bowled 18 overs, one more than that of Akash Deep, and got three important wickets, including one of Travis Head. Barring the 19-year-old Sam Konstas, the rest of the batters have been quite respectful towards Bumrah. In the 18 overs he bowled, he got 7 maidens, conceding 64 runs with an economy of 3.6. However, Bumrah came in sight on the field in the 79th over, fielding at the boundary, and then came bowling in the 82ns over. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first, having Konstas, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith scoring half centuries each. Speaking about India, they dropped Shubhman Gill and got the off-spinner batting allrounder Washington Sundar, who already took Labuschagne's wicket.
