During the net session at Melbourne on December 22, Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma got a blow on his knee while batting. With four days left to the Boxing Day Test, Sharma's injury can be an added scare in the camp. It was the Indian throwdown specialist Daya whose ball hit Rohit's knees in the nets. However, a report from the Times of India suggested that the captain resumed batting shortly after a pause. Rohit Sharma was seen removing his gears as he sat on a chair. The physio came and applied an ice pack while Rohit was visibly suffering from pain. The physio rested Rohit's left leg on another chair to give him some comfort. Not a good sign for India. He said, "Such blows are common when you play cricket. I think this wicket was for white ball which is why the ball was staying low. There is no concern." He too stopped for a few minutes as the physio arrived and applied magic spray to his wrist. After that, he started playing. Speaking about Rohit Sharma, he showed positive signs as he was seen opening his legs, making rooms for him to play shots. Rohit Sharma, however, has been struggling with his batting form. He also has been massively criticised for his captaincy—be it him rotating bowlers, his defensive approach against Travis Head, or his decision at the toss. India reached Melbourne on December 19 and has resumed practice for the Boxing Day Test, starting from December 26.
