The Indian all-rounder NitisH Reddy is likely to play the final ODI match of the ongoing series against Afghanistan at the Chidamabaram Stadium, Chennai, tomorrow. Reddy, who played the first ODI at Dharmashala, missed the second one in Lucknow due to a left quadricep injury. However, Ryan ten Doeschate, India's assistant coach, revealed that Reddy is fit enough to be available for the selection for the final ODI. In that case, Arshdeep Singh, the fast bowler, could be rested, as India has already sealed the series. Doeschate said, "Nitish, he probably could have played the last game as well. But he will be good to go for tomorrow’s game... If someone like Arshdeep does very well in the first two games, he can take a rest tomorrow. The same point is applicable to some of the batsmen." Doeschate added that there won't be much shuffling in the batting order. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who struggled in the last match, will continue to open along with Rohit Sharma. The team wants him to have more opportunities to get back to his rhythm. Meanwhile, KL Rahul will continue to bat in the middle with no point in promoting him up the order. He said. “The versatility of the batting line-up is fantastic. I don’t think it (Rahul batting up the order) is a consideration. We want to have a good look at Yashasvi as well. Obviously, he didn’t get around to scoring in the last game, so he will probably get another go." He added, “So I would imagine five batters plus Nitish Reddy and Washington. Nitish is obviously one of the batters, so we don’t make a change in the top three from the last game." Well, India sealed the ODI series against Afghanistan with a dominant 2-0 lead. Captain Shubman Gill starred in both victories, scoring 84* and 154. Ishan Kishan's century powered India past 400 in Lucknow, while Gurnoor Brar, Arshdeep Singh, and Harsh Dubey impressed with the ball throughout the series.
