Nicholas Pooran smashed an impressive 26-ball 70 to help Lucknow Super Giants chase down a target of 191 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. Coming to bat inside the powerplay, Pooran struck six fours and as many sixes, guiding LSG to victory within 17 overs. Speaking to the commentators after his match-winning knock, the West Indies batter credited his natural talent. "I've never worked on my bat speed, I'm just blessed with incredible talent. I am really happy that I have put in the work over the years and I am getting the reward on the cricket field and winning games for my team as well," he said. Pooran also acknowledged the team management for backing him and providing opportunities higher up the order. "In the last nine years, I have been working on my craft. Obviously, I have been getting the opportunity to bat higher up in the powerplay as well. It is really important to cash in when the wicket is nice and obviously when the match-up is there you try your best to execute your skills," he added. "We know what damage he can do down the order. I like that freedom too, but you have got to give someone that charge that you have to go and express yourself. The way he has been batting is phenomenal for us," Pant said. LSG had faced a heartbreaking one-wicket loss against Delhi Capitals in their previous match, despite Pooran's valiant 75 off 30 balls. However, on Thursday, he ensured his team finished on the winning side. LSG will next face Punjab Kings on April 1st, with hopes pinned on Pooran to continue his impressive form.
