The New Zealand women's cricket team is set to carry the first-ever T20 World Cup title around New Zealand for a nine-day trip as a result of taking the crown earlier in October. Having claimed the T20 World Cup, New Zealand team traveled to India to participate in a three-match ODI series which came to an end on Tuesday. The team returns to New Zealand on Friday while New Zealand Cricket commences the trophy tour on Saturday. They will meet and mingle with fans throughout the cities on their events in recognition of this success. Ten cities across New Zealand, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland are among the list that shall be visited as the team commences the tour starting from Dunedin. Opportunities shall be available for access at public events free for the fans to meet players. "Based on the amount of excitement back here in New Zealand following the win, we're expecting the public to get out in force to celebrate with the team, in the same way Kiwis supported the BLACKCAPS during their ICC World Test Championship Mace tour in 2021." NZC has said that it would display the T20 World Cup trophy for every one home match that New Zealand women's side plays. New Zealand claimed the T20 World Cup title beating the West Indies in the semi-final and then South Africa in the final in Dubai with Amelia Kerr leading an excellent all-round performance.
