The International Cricket Council has revealed the latest annual team rankings. India and Australia continue to lead the pack across formats. Australia remain the No.1 Test team with a rating of 126, but England has significantly closed the gap after recent strong performances. With a rating of 113, England now sit second after winning three of their last four Test series. South Africa (111) and India (105) follow closely, making the red-ball race tighter than ever. Notably, Australia and South Africa will face in the final of the World Test Championship 2025 on June 11. India and England will return to Test action on June 20, when India will tour England for a five-match Test series. In the ODI format, India continues their stronghold at the top. Boosted by their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win, India’s rating jumped from 122 to 124. New Zealand also climbed the ladder after finishing runners-up in that tournament, pushing Australia down to third. Sri Lanka’s rise to No.4 came on the back of wins over both India and Australia. Sri Lanka defeated India in the three-match ODI series in 2024, while they whitewashed Australia by 2-0 in February.
