The International Cricket Council is likely to urge the Pakistan Cricket Board to opt for the hybrid model, however, allotting 10 matches to the host and 5 other matches in neutral venues. Pakistan may get the green signal to host at least one semi-final and one final there. Well, if India qualifies, the scenario may change. The ICC had summoned the PCB officials for an online meeting on Friday, November 29, hoping to finally conclude all the confusions and debates regarding the Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB has consistently refuted against the idea of a hybrid model, but that 15-game competition is unacceptable; it appears the ICC may have limited alternatives. Speaking about granting a semi-final and a final, PCB has to keep the venues ready and travel and hotel arrangements done in advance. The United Arab Emirates having Abu Dhabi and Dubai, may be the neutral value for the Champions Trophy. South Africa, who had earlier hosted the tournament, is also one of the potential hosts. Pressurized Pakistan Well, its quite obvious that Pakistan won't agree with this proposal, but they are left with little or no chance to accept the hybrid model. ICC probably will conduct a vote among the 14 board members supporting the proposal. Moreover, if Pakistan denies the hybrid model, they may loose the hosting rights. Thus, it is expected that Pakistan Chief Mohsin Naqvi may seek 24-48 hours to sit with the Pakistan Government. A loss-loss situation for Pakistan fighting for ego, resulting in a massive loss in broadcasting revenue if India backs out or infrastructural revenue loss if they loose the hosting rights. Future concequences India will host both the Women's World Cup and men's Asia Cup in 2025, and the T20 World Cup later in 2026. If Pakistan is forced to bend his spine, Pakistan may not participate in all three tournaments. The implication of Pakistan stepping out of the Women's World Cup remains uncertain. However, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has already sold the broadcasting rights to Sony for $170 million. Thus, India may loose the hosting rights, as ACC may shift the tournament to either Sri Lanka or Bangladesh to lighten the situation.
