The Smart Replay System will be first introduced in the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup, which begins on October 3 from the UAE. Earlier, the Smart Replay System was seen in action in the Hundred and IPL 2024. In a release, the ICC stated: "The coverage will feature a minimum of 28 cameras at every game, and will be complemented by a variety of analytical and visual enhancements. The Decision Review System (DRS) will also be available at all matches, with a Hawk-eye Smart Replay System in place that enables the TV umpire to instantly review synchronized multi-angle footage for accurate decision-making." The Smart Replay System will feed information straight from two Hawk-Eye operators who will be in the same room to the TV umpire. The said operators will feed into the images of the umpire from Hawkeye's eight cameras positioned at high speeds around the ground. This setup eliminates the role of the TV broadcast director, who acted as a link between the third umpire and the Hawk-Eye operators earlier. This way, the TV umpire can access more visuals including split-screen images. Provided there is a clear gap between the ball and the bat, the umpire would not need to refer to UltraEdge for a caught-behind decision and would view the side-on replay directly for a stumping. However, if the umpire does not see a clear gap, then UltraEdge will be used. With stumpings, it will now show in tri-vision-a single frame with the side-on and front-on camera shots. The front-on view is meant to reveal whether the bails have been dislodged. From earlier seasons, side-on angles were shown from both sides, and the production used footage from Stump Cam, which operated at 50 frames per second. The Hawk-Eye cameras' speed captures the actions at about 300 frames per second so that clear, precise footage can be shown to the umpire for making his judgment. The all-women panel of umpires and match officials has also been an interesting promise of this tournament, just like the previous T20 World Cup.
