The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, September 1, made a historic announcement stating that the prize money for the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup will be more than what men's teams received in the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The 2025 Women's World Cup is scheduled to take place in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2, with a grand prize pool of $13.88 million (Rs. 122.49 crores approx), an astonishing 297% hike from the 2022 New Zealand edition. The men's World Cup in 2023 had a $10 million prize pool, with Australia taking home $4 million. Then, the 2025 tournament has not only increased but overtaken men's prize money, and this sets a new benchmark for women's cricket. The winners will get $4.48 million (Rs. 39.54 crores approx), something that is much more than what the men's champions were awarded in 2023. The final clash of the tournament is slated at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, unless Pakistan makes it to the final showdown, when the final will be moved to Colombo.
