The Final of the World Test Championship (WTC) is less than a month away and the ICC has declared a record prize money for the 2023–25 edition. The one-off Test match between Australia and South Africa will take place at Lord's, and both nations will be looking for the top award. This time, the prize pool for the WTC 2025 final is USD $5.76 million which is more than twice that of the last two finals. The winning team will receive USD $3.6 million, with the runners-up receiving USD $2.16 million. In contrast, the winners of the 2021 and 2023 finals only received USD $1.6 million, with the runners-up receiving USD $800,000. Legend players from the past like Shaun Pollock, Dale Steyn, Matthew Hayden, Mel Jones, Nasser Hussain, Shoaib Akhtar, and Ravi Shastri also made appearances in the video. South Africa was the first to seal their spot in the final of WTC, with series victories against Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, as well as having a drawn series at home with India. Australia booked their spot after defeating India 3-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They also performed well with series win against Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. South Africa is still in pursuit of its first ICC title since the 1998 CT win, and Australia will attempt to be the first side to win the WTC title twice. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma stated that the team is proud to make it to the final and considers it a great opportunity to win an ICC trophy.
