The 23-year-old Afghani batter Ibrahim Zadran has created history as he became the first-ever batter from his country Afghanistan to score a Champions Trophy century. Zadran scored a brilliant century in the ongoing 8th ODI match between Afghanistan and England in a must-win clash at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Afghanistan is facing England in a must-win clash after losing their first ODI match to South Africa by a whopping 107 runs. Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bat first in this match but his decision seemed wrong at the start as Afghanistan lost their opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz with a mere score of 6 then they lost Sediqullah Atal and Rahmat Shah in quick succession and both were dismissed on a score of 4. But Ibrahim Zadran kept his calm and scored a phenomenal century in a must-win clash. He scored his century in 106 deliveries and became the first Afghani batter to score a century in the ICC Champions Trophy. At the time of writing, Afghanistan has slowly recovered from their early setbacks and is in a stable position with Ibrahim Zadran still batting on 138 and Mohammad Nabi supporting him from the other side. Currently, Afghanistan has scored 256 for five wickets in 44 overs and they still have 6 overs left in their innings. With a must-win clash in front, these two set batters will need to take charge and take their team to a challenging total and restrict England under it to seal a victory. From England’s bowling attack, only Jofra Archer was successful who has taken three wickets till now and Jamie Overton and Adil Rashid have shared one wickets each.
