The former Indian Test cricketer Virat Kohli was rarely seen in official events, maintaining a low-key life away from the craze in India. However, it was a call from his former brother-cum-teammate Yuvraj Singh for the later YouWeCan Foundation for a fundraising ceremony. Even though it was a mysterious manner, Kohli came, because it was Yuvraj. According to a report from the Times of India, the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has had a star-studded gala dinner where he invited the present Indian team as well as his own teammates in England. The dinner featured Ashish Nehra, Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Gayle, Kevin Perterson, Brian Lara, Ravi Shastri and even the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir. Well, Kohli was not in sight from the beginning. Team India was there for alittle more than an hour, participated in several games and then left the hotel. When the meeting was about to settle, Kohli popped up on the screen, having a chat with his friend Kevin Perterson. Followed by that, the OG host Gaurav Kapoor summoned Yuvraj Singh, KP, Chris Gayle, and Darren Gough for a candid chat. Kohli was nowhere at the beginning and then entered the frame after Kapoor insisted. After exchanging greetings, Kohli was quite naturally asked about his surprising decision to retire from Test cricket. All he did was blame his gray beard. Kohli replied, "I just coloured my beard two days ago. You know its time when you are coloring your beard every four days." With the mic in hand, Kohli narrates his experience with "Yuvi pa" since the 2011 world cup, the phase of cancer and his return to the Indian colors. Not only that, Kohli, who is trying his best to go under the covers post-retirement, made it clear that, if it were not for Yuvraj, he would not have come here. Kohli said, "We shared a very good bond both on and off the field. I met him for the first time during a North Zone tournament in Bangalore. When I started playing for India, him, bhajji pa and Zaheer Khan took me under their wings. Really helped me grow as a player, made me comfortable in the dressing room. Lot of fun times off the field and made me aware of the lifestyle of getting to the top. These are the bonds I would cherish for the rest of my life.Watching him in the World Cup was very special and what we got to know after that was a shock. Being so close to him... we had no idea. Then his battle with cancer and again the champion that he is... coming on top and making a comeback to the team when I was leading the team." He added, "I clearly remember we played a game against England in Cuttack. There was a 2017 series we played at home and top-order got out early and Yuvi pa got 150 I think and MS scored 110 or something.I still remember telling KL or someone that this is like childhood days watching on big TV... I have a lot of love and respect for him. It's a pleasure being here and I won't do it for any other person but him. After the speech, Kohli left silently with his friend Gaurav Kapoor with minimal security, leaving the glasses clinging to cheers.
