Former India and CSK cricket Ambati Rayudu has come forward regarding the abusive messages he has been receiving on social media. The trolling began after Rayudu made positive comments regarding his former Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni, during the current IPL 2025 season. Despite of being trolled a lot, Rayudu has remained firm on his appreciation of Dhoni. Rayudu, who played six seasons with CSK, has always been a big supporter of the team and Dhoni. Despite CSK struggling this season, Rayudu remains a big supporter of the team and Dhoni too. But his utterances regarding Dhoni, particularly in the commentary box, did not go down too well with many fans. After CSK’s fourth straight loss, Rayudu was heard praising Dhoni’s presence and comparing him to a warrior. These remarks, however, led to more trolls and hate messages on social media. Rayudu answered the critics in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He quoted himself as a "Thala" fan and asserted that nothing would make him alter his opinion regarding Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He also made it absolutely clear that the negative posts and trolling would not affect or stop him from supporting Dhoni. When Dhoni came out to bat that game, Rayudu stated, "MS Dhoni is coming out with a sword, not the bat. The sword will be wielded tonight," resembling to the manner in which Dhoni approached the game. This statement fueled the fire, with some supporters labeling it as an over-the-top comment. In all the criticism, Rayudu has stood by what he thought and remains a supporter of Dhoni, even referring to himself as a die-hard fan of CSK legend.
