Jos Buttler was the top scorer for Gujarat Titans in their eight-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. The English batter played a crucial role in ensuring GT comfortably chased down the target, continuing his strong record against RCB. However, despite the dominant performance with the bat, GT's fielding was below par, with multiple chances going down throughout the game. The most shocking moment came in the very first over when Buttler dropped a straightforward catch off Phil Salt. The ball, which should have been a routine grab, ended up striking him on the chest, leaving everyone stunned. It was an uncharacteristic error from the experienced wicketkeeper-batter. "I was pretty embarrassed, especially with [dropping] Salty. He's a dangerous player. I didn't even... I barely got a glove on it, it hit me in the chest. But due to that embarrassment, I was pretty determined to try and score some runs," he said. Reflecting further on the team’s overall fielding performance, Buttler acknowledged that had GT taken their chances, they would have been chasing a much lower total. "If we fielded it a bit better, myself, looking at myself very much so, then we would have been chasing a few less," he added.
