KL Rahul smashed a remarkable 77 off 51 deliveries against Chennai Super Kings, guiding his team to their third consecutive win of the tournament. Speaking to Delhi Capitals mentor Kevin Pietersen after his match-winning knock, Rahul credited Team India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar for helping him revamp his white-ball game. “I’ve worked really hard on my white-ball game in the last year or so. Big shout-out to Abhishek Nayar. I’ve worked a lot with him ever since he’s come into the Indian team. We’ve spent hours and hours together talking about my white-ball game and how I can be better. We’ve worked hours and hours together in Bombay, and I think somewhere I’ve found the fun in playing white-ball cricket," he said in a video shared by the IPL’s official website. Rahul also light-heartedly mentioned how the Chennai heat got the better of him during the afternoon game. The conditions made things challenging for the batters in the middle. "It was really humid and hot. I wasn't hungry enough before the game, so I didn't eat anything. Halfway through the game, I was hungry. It is what it is" he joked.
