Right after the Indian Premier League drops the curtains, the T20 Mumbai League kicks off. However, prior to the commencement of the league, the Triumph Knight Mumbai North East skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, casually brushed off any tension on facing Shreyas Iyer's SoBo Mumbai Falcons. While speaking about his fellow Mumbai teammate, he firstly jokingly said that he didn't even know that Shreyas is leading the SoBo Mumbai Falcons. However, Surya did not shy away from praising Iyer's captaincy for Punjab Kings. Speaking to Mid Day, Surya said, "Is he [Iyer] SoBo [Falcons] captain? I actually don’t know. think it will be a good game because the way he’s leading in the IPL, and the way he plays for Mumbai, he had played the same way when we had the first season of the tournament [TML] in 2018. His excitement and the way he plays and spends time with other players is great." Notably, Surya's Triump Knights will meet Shreyas' SoBo Mumbai on June 6. For Surya, he will be looking to lead this team as the champion for the second time. However, speaking about IPL, Iyer's Punjab Kings had defeated Surya's Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier but ultimately got heartbroken after Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated them by 6 wickets and won the trophy after a long wait of 8 years.
