The cheerleaders are often considered as an essential part of the Indian Premier League, so far the entertainment. Each team has their own ways of showcasing their cheerleaders. But Pune Warriors India had their unique bunch of cheerleaders, dressed in traditional attire, doing Indian dance forms on the stage. Apart from that OD PWI bunch, cheerleaders are normally armed with pom-poms, which they shake and dance everytime their bowler gets a wicket or their batter hits a boundary. Apart from that, they are supposed to work during the drinks break.. and others. But how much do they get for that? Even though there is no exact amount available, it is clear that the wage is decided by the concerned franchise. And also, they get paid as per matches. Which team pays the highest to the cheerleaders? According to several reports, three-time IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders is the real winner for cheerleaders when it comes to money. As per records from previous IPL seasons, a cheerleader received around INR 24000 to INR 25000 per match. The five-time IPL winner Mumbai Indians follows KKR closely, paying around ₹20,000 per match to each. The defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, are expected to pay the same as MI. For franchises such as Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the amount is around ₹17,000 per match. Meanwhile, teams like Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals generally provide a base match fee in the range of ₹12,000 to ₹15,000. These often include luxury hotel accommodation, flight tickets, food allowances, and even medical insurance. Moreover, their duties are not just bounded to the matches but also to corporate parties. They are seen in sponsorship shoots and other promotional shoots. For that, there are appearance fees, ranging from INR 5000 to INR 12000 depending on the event. Also, if the team they are representing wins the season, then they get an additional payment of INR 3000 each. This means each cheerleader, depending on the team she/he is signed with, may get at least INR 2.5 lakh to a maximum of INR 5 lakh. Notably, the 2026 IPL is starting on March 28, with the BCCI releasing the second phase of the tournament. The board has confirmed that the tournament will be played till the 24th of May, even though they have not published the schedule for the playoffs and the final match.
