Honestly, I never imagined the journey this format would take me on. It's tested me, shaped me, and taught me lessons I'll carry for life. There's something deeply personal about playing in whites. Since Virat Kohli has quit Test cricket, everyone is eager to know how much he used to earn per match. Cricketers in India are provided with annual salaries by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). These are according to four grades. Apart from this, players also receive money for each match they feature in – be it a Test, One Day, or T20 match. They also earn additional money depending on their performance. According to reports, Virat Kohli used to earn ₹15 lakh for each Test match that he played. Apart from this, he was in the highest salary grade (A+) and earned ₹7 crore annually from his BCCI contract. This is the grade in which very few players are named by the BCCI. Players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are slated in this grade as they add a lot of value to the game. The modern-day great will no longer appear for India in Tests and T20I. However, the stalwart of Indian cricket will continue playing ODI cricket for India and he is expected to play till the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.
