Maxwell at the non-striker end was also very pleased to see the thunderous six. The Renegades had a hard time batting initially, losing three wickets quickly. They required someone to steady the innings. It was here that Jacob Bethell, joined by Jonathan Wells, took control. Bethell scored 49, and Wells added 45 to help them reach a respectable total of 168. The Stars also lost a couple of early wickets, but eventually Marcus Stoinis and Ben Duckett took the charge and kept up the chase. Later, Maxwell and Cartwright contributed useful runs to help wrap up the match and gain two vital points for their side.
