Former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul Haq has criticized Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar's comments and urged him not to cross the line. Sunil Gavaskar recently spoke about the India and Pakistan teams, highlighting the growing difference between the arch-rivals. He also claimed that India's bench strength is stronger than that of Pakistan's current team. Though Pakistan leads India in overall head-to-head encounters with 73 wins to 58, India has dominated recent clashes, winning their last six international matches against Pakistan. C team, I am not too sure. But a B team will be very, very hard to beat for Pakistan in their current form," Gavaskar stated. 'He once fled Sharjah to escape from playing against Pakistan' Inzamam Ul Haq has hit back at Gavaskar's remarks, reminding him how he once fled Sharjah to avoid playing against Pakistan. "India won the match, they played well, but Mr. Gavaskar should also take a look at the stats. He once fled Sharjah to escape from playing against Pakistan. He is older than us; he is our senior. We greatly respect him, but you should not speak about a country like that," Inzamam told 24 News HD. The former Pakistan captain also added that one can praise their team without putting down the other team. "Sure, you have the right to praise your team as much as you want, but commenting like this on other teams is in bad taste," he said. Inzamam concluded by saying that Gavaskar must review the records and learn to control his words. "Tell him to look at stats, and he'll know where Pakistan stands. I am deeply hurt that he made such a statement. He was a great, respectful cricketer, but by making such comments, he is only demeaning his legacy. He should control his tongue," he said. Pakistan, despite being the host of the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy, had a tournament to forget. They were knocked out without a single victory, losing to both New Zealand and India, while their match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.
