Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar has expressed his desire to win the IPL 2025 title for Virat Kohli, acknowledging the veteran’s immense contribution to the franchise over the years. With RCB set to face Punjab Kings in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Patidar said the team is focused on playing their best cricket to honour Kohli's long-standing commitment. RCB secured their place in the final after defeating PBKS in Qualifier 1. Punjab, meanwhile, earned a rematch by beating five-time champions Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer. Both franchises are chasing their first-ever IPL title. Patidar, speaking on the eve of the final, kept his emotions in check but made it clear how much Kohli’s presence means to the team. “I think it’s not frustrating for me. We are not looking at the stage that we are going to play the finals. But we will try to play our best cricket. I always like to keep things simple. He has given a lot of years to RCB and the international side also. We will try to do our best in the game.” Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, acknowledged the challenge of playing on a different surface and praised RCB’s bowling attack. “I would like to say we are on a different wicket right now. They have been bowling very well. It’s important for us to adapt and take the bull by the horns.” Also READ: IPL 2025 Final, RCB vs PBKS, Live Blog: Match 74, Score & Key Moments "This is my first year as captain... it’s exciting": Patidar In his debut season as captain, Patidar has led RCB to their first final in nearly a decade.
