Former Indian cricketer and commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar, shared his views on Virat Kohli's form in the longer format of the game. Virat Kohli lost his wicket early on Day 1 of the Pink-Ball Test at Adelaide. He was dismissed by Mitchell Starc on 7 runs, and this yet again raised a concern about his consistency in the Test cricket. The batting woes started early for India as the visitors lost their opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on a golden duck, followed by four more wickets. Rohit Sharma-Led India were reduced to 87-5, before a fighting effort by Nitish Kumar Reddy and the supportive knocks by Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin helped India reach 180 at the end of their innings. Mitchel Starc was the standout performer for Australia as he didn't allow the Indian batters to score runs and kept bowling a perfect length. His discipline and experience of bowling with the Pink-Ball earned him six-wickets. He edged the ball outside the off and was caught at the third slip on the delivery of Mitchell Starc, and this has been a pattern of his dismissal over the years. Manjrekar took it to the Twitter where he mentioned about the average of Virat being dropped to 48 and the reason behind it is his weakness on the off stump. He wants to Kohli tackle this weakness in different way. On Twitter, Manjrekar said: "One important reason why Virat’s average has slipped to 48 now, is the unfortunate weakness outside off. But more crucially his adamance to not try another way to tackle it." One important reason why Virat’s average has slipped to 48 now, is the unfortunate weakness outside off.
