It is now set to collide with Pakistan’s premier T20 league, the Pakistan Super League 2025. Hasan Ali has now stirred controversy by comparing the Pakistan league with the prominent and cash-rich Indian league. As quoted by News18, Hasan said: “Of course, there should be good viewership, we’re clashing with the IPL, but we only had this window to organise PSL. Only performance and entertainment grab viewership. So, if we perform well during the entire PSL, then viewers will leave IPL and watch us. It’s all dependent on how PSL goes for us.” Hasan Ali further stated that the poor performance of the Pakistan National Cricket Team will affect the viewership of the Pakistan Super League this time. Adding the recent results of the Pakistan Cricket Team, where the team was knocked out of the Champions Trophy within a week and then was brutally thrashed by a weaker side of New Zealand team in the recently concluded white-ball series. He further said: “When the national team doesn’t perform well, it impacts franchise leagues like the PSL. Yes, our results haven’t been up to the mark from the Champions Trophy to the recent New Zealand tour. We had several new players in the team and hence they will take some time to settle down. But when Pakistan does well, the PSL’s graph also rises. We’ll try our best to make our fans happy in the upcoming season.” Hasan Ali is set to represent the Karachi Kings in PSL 2025. The first match of PSL 2025 is set to go under on April 11, with the defending champions Islamabad United taking on Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi.
