Indian cricketing sensation Hardik Pandya, who has been bowling the ball at considerable pace and has been hitting some of the most powerful shots from years, may soon return to Test cricket. Recently, he had posted pictures on Instagram while practicing with a red cricket ball, which has sparked much chatter amongst the fans and experts about this very potential comeback. 30-years old Pandya played his last Test six years ago against England in Southampton. For his Test cricket till date, the right-hander has aggregated one century along with four half-centuries. With the ball, he has bagged 17 wickets in 11 matches, with one five-wicket haul. PTI quoted a BCCI senior saying: "It’s heartening to know that Hardik is bowling with red ball but has he really spoken to men who matter (chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma) about his intentions?” His recent Instagram posts have surfaced him bowling and batting hard in the nets, sending all rounds of speculations on his return to the game's longest format. In the last year, the right-arm all-rounder suffered an ankle injury during the 2023 ODI World Cup, as a result of which he was ruled out and therefore also affected India's chances in the final against Australia. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is gearing up for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh that is starting shortly. They will also host Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series, for which Pandya is more than likely to be a part. Ten Tests are planned during the year and after the series against Bangladesh, India will play three Tests at home against New Zealand. At the end of the year, India will travel to Australia in a bid to defend their title in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Also Read | What If India Declines to Travel to Pakistan For Champions Trophy?
