After Sreesanth's wife criticism, former Harbhajan Singh, too, openly called out Lalit Modi for releasing the slapgate video after seventeen years. Harbhajan Singh claimed that there might be some selfish motive behind releasing the video. And it is very dismissive to both the families, especially when both of them have moved on from it. Notably, the video of Harbhajan Singh slapping Sreeshant wasn't even released by the broadcasters. The former IPL chief Lalit Modi attended Michael Clarke's "Beyond 23" show, where he released the video. Speaking to Instant Bollywood at an event of Ganesh Puja, Harbhajan once again said sorry to his former teammate, accepting his sin. Singh said, “The way the video has been leaked, it’s wrong. It shouldn’t have happened. They might have a selfish motive behind it. Something that happened 18 years ago, people have forgotten, and they are reminding people about it." He added, "I feel bad for whatever happened. We were playing, and everyone had things going on in their mind. Mistakes happened, and we do feel ashamed about it." Speaking to IANS, Modi said, “I don’t know why she is getting angry. I was asked a question, and I shared the truth. I can’t do anything about that. I am known to speak the truth. Sree was the victim, and that’s exactly what I said. No one had asked me this question earlier, so when Clarke quipped, I responded."
