Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has heaped praise on pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his fantastic performance against Australia in a cheeky reference to Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal. Bumrah is in fine form during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and is currently the leading wicket-taker of the series, tormenting the Aussies with skills and brilliance. Bumrah was the Player of the Match in the series opener in Perth, where he took eight wickets across the two innings and led India to a 295-run win in regular skipper Rohit Sharma's absence. He claimed four wickets in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide and managed another fifer in the first innings in Brisbane in the third Test of the series. Here is what Harbhajan said in the commentary box “Because Bumrah is science man. I was watching an interview of Saeed Ajmal with Usman Khawaja and in that he had said 'What is science, man, science is man.' So Bumrah is science, he is a very big scientist, his work starts where science fails because he knows where to pitch the ball. And that's an art, Bumrah knows how to make a batsman play and Khawaja doesn't know how to play Bumrah. He is special, he is different from others, his art is different and his stats show what a great bowler he is,” "Science is a man, and Bumrah is science!" IYKYK! 😉#HarbhajanSingh with a cheeky nod to the iconic #SaeedAjmal meme, while #JaspritBumrah proves it by dismissing #McSweeney!#AUSvINDOnStar 👉 3rd Test, Day 2 | LIVE NOW on Star Sports! #ToughestRivalry #BorderGavaskarTrophy pic.twitter.com/1VTS1EdEjg — Star Sports (@StarSportsIndia) December 15, 2024 Jasprit Bumrah has been a standout performer for Team India in this Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He is the main reason why India is still competing in the series, as in the first match he took charge and put India in a strong position after poor batting of Indian batters. In the pink ball Test match, he looked in hot form as he also picked wickets where Indian bowling looked out of form. In the Gabba Test as well, he is the main reason for India's comeback in the match after the poor bowling display on the first day of the match. Firstly, he packed Usman Khawaja, and they got Nathan McSweeney in his first spell of the day, and then he broke the giant partnership of Steve Smith and Travis Head and dragged the game back to India. He picked the main wicket of Steve Smith, who was really looking good on the crease, but he bowled the right lines to get him out. Eventually he took five wickets, in which he picked all the main batters of the Australian team. In the series so far, Bumrah has been the top wicket-taker, as he has picked up 17 wickets in BGT 2024-25, and surely he will be picking more wickets going forward into the series.
