Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has highlighted how Virat Kohli is looking to adjust with the Australian situation putting more effore on his backfoot in the Adelaide nets. Virat Kohli has been known for his front-foot dominance, but the back-foot game. Well, one can't blame him for that, as he hails from India, which demands such stances. However, this has been a curse in other countries; he is seen to be more dependent on that. Well, in the nets on December 10, Kohli was seen practicing his backfoot stance as well. Speaking to the Star Sports, Harbhajan pointed out that Virat Kohli is preparing for the added bounce from the Gabba pitch. He said, "Yes, whatever little I have seen him batting in the nets today. I have played a lot of crcket with him. He is a front foot player. Knowing the bounce on Indian soil, you have to be on your front foot. The people who have played here, the likes of Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh, Langer, Hayden. They were good back foot players, because of the bounce. It is the kind of bounce you get in Australia, you have to be good player of bounce. You need to have a good backfoot game. That's what he was practising." The 3rd Test is set to begin on December 14, Saturday. Harbhajan Singh is hoping that Virat Kohli will make a strong comeback in the 3rd Test after experiencing a rare failure at one of his favorite venues in Adelaide. He noted that Kohli had been playing a lot of deliveries on the backfoot, particularly against balls that were slightly shorter than full length. Kohli had been either leaving or attempting to play such deliveries, although he had been moving forward for the fuller balls. Harbhajan also mentioned that the Gabba pitch would present a different challenge with its bounce and pace, requiring Kohli to incorporate the backfoot game into his technique. Harbhajan, moreover, praised Kohli for working on his game and expressed confidence that Kohli, known for bouncing back after setbacks, would be able to make a strong return.
