India were under huge pressure before traveling to Australia as they had lost 3-0 to New Zealand at home. The defeat also made things complicated for India's qualification to the World Test Championship final. But, all seems to be okay again as India won against Australia in the first Test at Perth. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh said that if the side led by Rohit Sharma is able to win the next match at Adelaide, they will definitely make it to the WTC summit clash. Harbhajan also felt that qualifying for the final should not be the aim since he wants the players to concentrate on the ongoing series. To beat them in their backyard is always very difficult, but this is a ground where the happiness of winning doubles because here they (Australia) consider themselves (to be) very strong at this venue. So, well done to team India. I hope this will continue and India (would) go on to win this series 4-1,” he added. Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah led the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the first Test. The 30-year-old led from the front as India picked up a comfortable 295-run win over Australia. Speaking on the same, the former off-spinner stated that he has been a massive supporter of Bumrah since his early days at the Mumbai Indians and added that characters like him command respect in the dressing room. “Bumrah is an amazing player, and of course, he has got a great mindset. I have been a huge supporter of Bumrah from day one and he has got that very calm kind of personality. He knows his game and he is one of those guys who is a very likeable person in the dressing room. He commands a lot of respect in the dressing room so when such a person leads you from the front, the team obviously follows,” he said.
