MS Dhoni is set to return for yet another IPL season with Chennai Super Kings. The franchise retained him for INR 4 crore ahead of the auction. Even at 43, Dhoni remains a key player for CSK. He retired from international cricket in 2019 but continues to make an impact in the IPL. Last season, he featured in all 14 matches, scoring 161 runs with 13 sixes. While he no longer plays long innings, his quick 20-30 run cameos have been crucial. As he gears up for another season, his former teammates Harbhajan Singh and Aakash Chopra shared what keeps him going. "I met him recently at a wedding, and he looked incredibly fit. I asked if it was tough to keep going, and he said, ‘It is hard, but this is what I love doing. I enjoy it.’ He admitted it’s challenging without regular cricket, but he’s showing how it’s done. He’s still dominating," Harbhajan said. Harbhajan Singh also pointed out his work ethic, stating that he is the first man to arrive and the last to leave. "Last season, he took on the best bowlers. So this practice that he does for 2-3 months, he must be facing so many balls. He’s always the first to arrive and the last to leave. The more balls you play, the more you get that timing, and the more you get that flow. At his age, that dedication makes all the difference," he added. 'Dhoni has the clarity about his game': Aakash Chopra Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra added to Harbhajan Singh's comments, saying that Dhoni has clarity about his game and is very honest with himself. "He’s very honest with himself. People kept asking why he wouldn’t bat higher if he was striking the ball so well. But in his head, he was convinced that he could not bat for 40 balls. So he was very clear about what he could do. Sometimes it’s equally important to know what you can’t do. So that allows you that clarity. He has that clarity," Chopra said. Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL 2025 campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 23 at Chepauk Stadium.
