The defending champions, Guyana Amazon Warriors, have officially announced their squad for the upcoming third edition of the Global Super League (GSL), set to unfold in Guyana from July 23 to August 1. Leading the charge will be veteran South African spinner Imran Tahir, as the team aims to defend their title. The roster boasts a mix of international talent, including Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, Pakistan's promising wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, and New Zealand's Glenn Phillips. Notably, Haris is the sole Pakistani player included in the Warriors' lineup for this tournament. The squad also features a robust representation from the West Indies, with standout players like Shimron Hetmyer, Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie, and Johnson Charles. It's worth mentioning that the tournament will see four other teams joining the Warriors, including Pakistan's Lahore Qalandars. The other competitors are Australia's Perth Scorchers, the UAE's Desert Vipers, and the USA's San Francisco Unicorns. The Guyana Amazon Warriors then secured the title in 2025, defeating the Riders by 32 runs in the championship showdown. Lahore Qalandars will kick off their campaign against the Perth Scorchers on July 23, followed by a match against the Desert Vipers the next day. They will then face the Guyana Amazon Warriors on July 26 and the San Francisco Unicorns on July 29. The team that finishes at the top of the standings will earn a direct spot in the final, while the second and third-placed teams will compete in a qualifier on July 31. The grand final is scheduled for August 1.
