West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie produced a brilliant delivery on Day 1 of the second Test between Pakistan and the West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium as he dismissed Babar Azam for just one run. In the seventh over of Pakistan's innings, Motie delivered a brilliant ball that Babar was not prepared for. Babar attempted his late cut but missed, and it hit the off stump. He was out for one run off five balls. Pakistan was at 25/2. Babar Azam's poor showing in the entire series has again been a debate. He began the first Test with low scores and his exit in this too raised more worried thoughts, where he has continued to do alright in ODIs but not looked too good here in red ball cricket. All of his battles against spin in turning pitches made him look different. Thus, at the end of an historic display from Pakistan spinner Noman Ali, they were bowled out at 163 runs. The left-armer was the first Pakistani spinner to achieve the Test hat-trick in eliminating Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair. His performance kept West Indies to a rather low total. However, Motie fought hard with a knock of 55 runs, and Jomel Warrican contributed an unbeaten 36 to cruise over 150. Pakistan suffered early blows in reply. Opener Muhammad Hurraira went cheaply for nine, while Shan Masood and Babar, too, could not play the anchor's role. Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel lost their wickets and left the side in a difficult situation. In the meantime, wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan again bailed out the side with his magic with the bat.
