Former Indian coach, aka legendary Australian cricketer Greg Chappel, wrote an inspiring message to the struggling Prithvi Shaw. Chappel assured him to offer support in case he reaches out for assistance. Recently, Prithvi Shaw has been dropped from the Mumbai Ranji squad due to his ongoing off-form. Mumbai Cricket officials have mentioned that Shaw needs to work on his fitness and has disciplinary issues that need to be rectified. Reaching out, Chappel wrote to the Times of India, "The past doesn't define you, Prithvi. It's what you do from here that matters. You're still in your prime, with so many years ahead to make your mark. Take this time to visualise the cricketer and person you want to become. Surround yourself with people who inspire you to improve." Prithvi Shaw, the lost talent Shaw broke into the senior team when he was just 18 years old, smacking a century against the West Indies in his first Test match in 2018. The U-19 World Cup-winning captain, despite speculating comparisons with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, gradually got overshadowed in cricket. His off-field mannerisms, added to his getting involved in controversies, got added to the list. Speaking of indiscipline, another Aussie legend, Ricky Ponting, who was the coach of the Delhi Capitals, offered him special sessions in the camp, which Shaw turned down. DC too, this year moved on from Shaw. Shaw played his last test in 2020 and his limited over match in 2021 July.
