Earlier in 2021, during the Covid-19 pandemic, PCB suspended him for breaching the protocols during the Pakistan Super League in Abu Dhabi. He was thereafter cut off from the England and West Indies tour in 2021. However, he seems pretty close to Pakistan's present white-ball Head coach Mike Hesson. Hesson was planning to get him in the T20 tri-series to be hosted at the Sharjah Stadium later this month. 24-year-old Haider, who last played for Pakistan in the 2023 Asian Games, has featured in 2 ODIs and 35 T20Is. He was also part of the 2020 U-19 World Cup. Notably, on Wednesday, the Pakistan Shaheen returned to Pakistan except for Haidar Ali and Saud Shakeel. Shakeel went to Dubai for personal reasons.
