Bangladesh is all set to take on New Zealand in their second match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday and they would be hoping to see Mahmudullah in their playing XI for this clash. With the match just a few days away, the Bangladesh Cricket Team manager has provided some crucial updates on the veteran’s fitness. He said Mahmudullah is likely to be available but a final call will be made later. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said: “We are hopeful regarding his (Mahmudullah) availability (for the remaining part of the tournament). He is recovering well but a final decision in this regard can only be taken after the last practice session ahead of our game against New Zealand in Rawalpindi." He further added: "We had a scan after he sustained the injury and there was no tear found. It's a good sign, and whenever he feels comfortable, he will be ok to play, I guess, as there is no tear." The 39-year-old Bangladeshi veteran player has played 238 matches in his ODI career so far and he has amassed 5685 runs including four centuries to his name. Along with it, he has also taken 82 wickets as well.
