Australian summer is just a couple of weeks away, which means the start of the big series, the Border Gavaskar Trophy, between Team India and Australia. Glenn Maxwell talked about how excited he is for such a big series, saying he just cannot wait to watch the game of Virat Kohli against Steve Smith. Maxwell called them as "finest players of the generation" and also believed that their performance would decide which team going to lift the trophy. Glenn Maxwell told Star Sports, "I think probably the way that the two superstar batters, Steve Smith and Virat Kohli, probably head-to-head, seeing how their dominance I suppose is asserted on the series and how much of an influence that has on who takes home the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Both till now, have risen to the occasion whenever India and Australia have clashed. Indian star batter, Virat Kohli has played 25 Tests against Australia, gathering 2042 runs at an average of 47.48, with eight centuries. Smith has also scored 2042 runs against India in 19 Tests but at a better average of 65.87 with nine centuries. Both cricketers have produced some unforgettable performances and have had quite a few on-field heated exchanges over the years. Having said that, with both of them now in the fag end of their Test careers, this Australian summer is going to be big for them, and they would want to make most of it.
