KL Rahul did what Rishabh Pant desperately wanted but did last long. Rahul got his 10th Test century and got dismissed at 100 off 177 balls. With the century, KL Rahul became the second only Indian cricketer to have multiple Test centuries at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. Earlier the record was solely held by the former batter Dilip vengasarkar. He had scored centuries in three successive Tests at the venue. well, he still tops the list with three tons, the highest by any visiting batter. Notably, KL scored his second Ton at Lords on Day 3, July 12. Well, it was KL Rahul's fourth overall Test century in England, the most by any Indian opener in the country. KL did that, but his journey ended there at Lord's as a batter. Even KL's dismissal looked elegant- the perfect leg movement and getting his stance perfect—but he got edged by Shoaib Bashir's full toss to his off stump. KL swung his bat, and the ball simply bounced to Harry brook as the latter took a low catch at the first slip. Rahul's wicket came right after he got his century. However, before leaving, he made a hundred-run partnership with Rishabh Pant. Rahul found rhythm quickly, cutting Chris Woakes for a boundary and then punishing Brydon Carse with three consecutive fours in the following over. His innings gained momentum as he continued to pick gaps and time the ball well, particularly off Carse’s bowling. Just before lunch, Rahul entered the 90s but got caught in an unfortunate mix-up, which led to Pant’s dismissal for 74 as he attempted to give Rahul the strike to reach his hundred. Notably, KL had his last century at Lord's during India's famous tour in 2021, when he was awarded the Player of the Match award for scoring 129 runs in the first innings.
