Winning a Test series in England has to continue waiting. And now the coaching unit has been under the guillotine following a below-satisfactory performance from the Indian teams. However, yet again Gautam Gambhir has been kept safe from the scrutiny. According to a report from the Telegraph, the bowling coach Morne Morkel and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate might be sacked after the Asia Cup 2025. By the West Indies series in India, Gambhir might be leading a new coaching team. Well, the management may not lay a hand on India's batting coach, Sitangshu Kotak. The report further added that whatever the decision will be, it will be independent of whatever the outcome of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Series. Not only the critics and commentators questioned his unavailability, but a specialized spinner warming up the bench has been a major issue. A source told The Telegraph, “The coaches always talk of balance but keeping a world-class wrist spinner like Kuldeep Yadav out has had disastrous consequences." The fact that the team boasts about balance but does not select Kuldeep has irked the management. Sources revealed that several coaches had several opinions on selecting him. Not only that, the board has no clue on the role of Dutch-based ten Doeschate. Even though he carried on the duties when Gambhir returned back to India due to personal reasons. Even the bowling department has been seen struggling, leading fingers on Morkel. BCCI's blame game since Gambhir's appointment Since Gautam Gambhir's arrival, there have been a lot of changes in the Indian camp. Notably, with this coaching troop, India won just 4 out of 13 Test matches, starting with a brutal 3-0whitewash against New Zealand at home. There were rumors that Gambhir might be sacked after that. Well. India went to Australia, being defeated after 10 years in the Border Gavaskar Series. Rohit Sharma, who earlier had plans for the England series, announced his Test retirement right on the day of squad selection. After a few days, Virat Kohli announced his retirement too. Abhishek nayar, who was appointed as a batting coach after being requested by Gambhir himself, got sacked, and Sitangshu Kotak was brought in. Now that the England Series did not go well, India is planning for another change, but Gambhir is kept safe again! Earlier, after the BGT defeat, reports said that the management safeguarded Gambhir, saying captains make the decisions! And now, the management is not likely to take a risk with Gambhir anytime soon, as the team is going through a transition phase. The report also mentioned that chief selector Ajit Agarkar and East Zone representative Shiv Sundar Das, currently with the team in England, are also being closely scrutinized by the BCCI.
