On Friday, Gambhir was in a six-hour-long meeting with Ajit Agarkar, head of the BCCI selection committee, and the Indian Test & ODI skipper, Rohit Sharma. The agenda covered Team India’s recent 0-3 humiliating Test series loss at home to New Zealand, along with an analysis of the factors that led to this outcome. Sources indicate that there are still some differences between Gambhir and the team’s think-tank on a few decisions, particularly around team selection. Such disagreements could spell trouble for the team with the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy approaching. The BGT will be crucial for both Gambhir and Rohit Sharma as India's WTC final qualification hinges on their shoulders.
