Gautam Gambhir, who has been under minute analysis with his coaching objective after a disappointing whitewash against New Zealand in the home test series, has slammed all the social media critics in the pre-departure press conference. The wobbly start of Gautam Gambhir's coaching tenure featured the first bilateral ODI series loss to Sri Lanka since 1997 and the first ever 0-3 historical home test series loss to New Zealand. With these, Gambhir's coaching ability has been under tremendous criicisms with reports claiming that the Border Gavaskar Trophy can be his last if the results works otherwise. Social media too burst out expressing frustrations, trolling Gambhir's tenure. However, Gambhir looked easy and shrugged off all the criticisms when asked in the press conference. He knows the heat of the job, and is not pressurized about it. Read: Gambhir Confirms Bumrah to Lead India in Perth Test In the press- conference, he stated, “What difference does it make tell me? Social media what difference does it make in my life? And for that matter, anyone’s life. And when I took up this job, I always think it's going to be a highly difficult job and highly prestigious job as well. And honestly, I don't think as if I'm feeling the heat, because my job is to be absolutely honest. And there are some incredibly tough people in that dressing room who have achieved some great things for the country and will continue to achieve some great things for the country. So it's an absolute honour to be coaching them and coaching India.” Border Gavaskar Trophy—is it Gambhir's last dance as a coach? The Border Gavaskar Trophy presently is a qualifier test series for India to reach the World Championship final. India needs to win 4 of the 5 Tests to play the final. Certain verdicts are out that say BCCI may either sack Gambhir or may go with the "two-coach" policy if India fails to get the desired result. Even though Gambhir backed Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, there is no point of denial that the stalwarts are struggling with their form. Gambhir will genuinely have to have a huge braingame to get this young Indian team with struggling seniors win the series and qualify for BGT.
