The Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir had to leave England on an emergency basis, as per reports of the IANS. RevSports clarified that his mother is currently admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after she reportedly suffered from a heart attack. The Indian cricket team is touring England for a five-match Test series against England, starting on June 20. Meanwhile, today the team was supposed to play a 2-day intrasquad practice match behind closed doors. As per Gambhir's instructions, the match was not supposed to be opened to the public, trying to isolate it from the eyes of the opponents. In such a situation, it might add tensions regarding who will take the role after Gambhir's sudden exit. Notably, no official words have been made regarding his arrival, and his arrival at this point remains uncertain.
