In the latest development, there is good news for the Indian cricket team and fans. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir will be joining the team ahead of the second Test match, a pink-ball, of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). As per a report in ESPNcricinfo, it is learnt that Gambhir has left India and will join the Indian camp on Tuesday. He was unavailable for the warm-up game against Prime Minister XI in Canberra. Gambhir flew back to India on November 26, in his absence Indian assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate, and bowling coach Morne Morkel were seen helping the players in the training sessions along with preparing the key strategies and planning for the upcoming pink-ball Test match. The second Test match will be a day-night Test match and there will be a selection dilemma for Gautam Gambhir as the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has already joined the camp and will be available for the second Test match. Furthermore, Shubman Gill missed the Perth Test match because of a thumb injury that he got during the intra-squad practice match at WACA, will be also available for the selection. It is almost confirmed that Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will return to the playing XI for the second match in place of Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal, the headaches for Gambhir increase when it comes to arranging a proper batting order. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal did brilliantly in the opening Test match. It will be interesting to see if Gambhir brings Rohit Sharma to the middle order or makes any further changes to the batting lineup.
