Former Indian cricketer and the former batter of Kolkata Knight Riders, Manoj Tiwary, has lashed out on Indian Cricket Coach Gautam Gambhir, reminiscing bitter experiences and also calling him a hypocryte. Manoj Tiwari, in a recent interview, mentioned that Gambhir had abused his family and had said cuss words about the former Indian captain Saurav Ganguly, who also happened to be a knight captain. He recalled his Ranji trophy fight with Gambhir when he not only abused Tiwari's family publicly but also bittered Ganguly's name. However, according to Tiwari's claims, Gambhir was saved by certain individuals. Further more, Tiwari called Gambhir hypocritical, recalling Gambhir's denial to appoint non-Indian coaches. However, it was Gambhir who asked BCCI to appoint Ryan Ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel to the coaching unit the moment he took over as the head coach. Speaking about that, Tiwari said, "Why did I call him a hypocrite? It is because of one of his interviews, if you remember. In one of the interviews, he said, 'All these foreign coaches, all the guys who come from abroad, have no emotions, they have no feelings. They earn money and enjoy themselves.' When the time was there for him to select all the Indian coaches and all the Indian-origin support staff, why did he put forward the names of Ryan ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel? He got everything he wanted but he is not able to produce the results. Actions don't match his words, so I called him a hypocrite." For that, Rana received enough criticism for being accused as a favourite of Gambhir. He then posted a story on his Instagram account supporting and defending Gautam Gambhir. Even Nitish Rana, who played in KKR both under Gambhir's captaincy and mentorship, came out to support Gambhir. Speaking about Harshit's claims, Tiwari said that Harshit has enough reasons to support Gautam Gambhir, especially after debuting in Perth. Tiwary not only highlighted Gambhir's mentorship tenure and that he has never coached any team before, he also spoke about Harshit's limited first-class exposure in comparison to Akash Deep. he said, "Why wouldn't Nitish Rana and Harshit Rana, for example, not support Gautam Gambhir? Harshit Rana played in Perth in place of Akash Deep. How was that possible? What did Akash Deep do wrong? He bowled fantastic spells against Bangladesh and New Zealand. As a fast bowler, you dream about bowling in friendly conditions, but you dropped him and went in with Harshit, who doesn't have that much first-class experience. Akash Deep has fabulous records. That is a completely biased selection. That is why players will come out and defend him." Notably, Harshit Rana was dropped in the third Test after having a terrible run in the second Test at Adelaide. Even Akash Chopra lashed on both players for supporting Gambhir, calling them "chat-gpt products!"
