Devajit Saikia, the newly appointed interim BCCI Secretary, has vowed that the Board will do everything neccessary to heal the drawbacks in the Indian Cricket Team. Saikia took over Jay Shah after the later left for becoming the Chair of the ICC on December 1. Speaking about the Indian team, they recently returned from Australia after suffering a 1-3 loss. Priot to that, India faced a record-breaking 0-3 whitewash against New Zealand at home. Regarding the Indian side, Saikia mentioned that the board has decided to simplify matters and plans to focus on one tournament at a time. Saikia said, “It is a big challenge because if you see, we are not doing good in Test cricket in the last two series against Australia as well as New Zealand. So, immediately we are having the England series so far as T20 is concerned and thereafter the big event of the Champions Trophy in Dubai. We have to think about one (tournament) at a time. We have had a lot of discussions during the last two days and we are trying to streamline; whatever our drawbacks are, we have to overcome them."
