Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen pretty disappointed with captain Rishabh Pant after the loss against DC. Ashutosh Sharma's blazing innings had brought the Capitals to a nail-biting victory of just one wicket. After the match, he again watched a conversation between Goenka and Pant on the sidelines, reminiscent of the time he had an unsavory altercation with previous skipper KL Rahul in 2024. In 2024, Goenka faced a lot of criticism after he blasted Rahul publicly following LSG's defeat to the SRH. Something similar happened on Monday when the men in blue lost to DC in a high-scoring match. LSG spent a whopping ₹27 crore in the mega auction to buy this high-paid player in IPL 2025. Initially, the footage suggested Goenka might be scolding Pant just after the match. Later on, however, LSG made it clear that it was just a lighthearted talk and not a scolding. In the course of their horrible loss, a visibly unhappy owner was seen giving very harsh feedback to then-captain KL Rahul on upstage live television. Goenka deserves every bit of this for treating my man KL Rahul so badly last IPL 🤣🤣🤣🙏🙏🙏 pic.twitter.com/I3Fno4aGT1 — Krishna Lahoti (@avgphoenixguy) March 24, 2025 Read: Watch: Shikhar Dhawan surprises Ashutosh with special call following his gesture This heated discussion sparked social media outrage as fans condemned the public nature of the exchange. Commentators also weighed in, advising that these discussions should remain behind closed doors. Commentator on air shared: “You always feel these conversations should always be behind closed doors. There are so many cameras that miss nothing, and KL Rahul is not going to go at press conferences and various other things and probably potentially explain what is being discussed there. He has done well here to keep his cool.” Rishabh Pant's Captaincy: Interestingly, Pant's captaincy received its fair share of criticism, especially when it came to underusing Shardul Thakur. Two wickets were claimed by Thakur in his first over, but he ended up bowling only two overs in the entire match. Twenty-two runs were needed to be scored in the last two overs, and Pant threw the ball to an untested Prince Yadav rather than to Shardul. Prince leaked 16 runs: two boundaries and a six. The last over was bowled with Shahbaz Ahmed instead of Shardul, who, past experience and ICC Stat-should say, can deliver in similar situations and win matches for India. To compound matters, Pant missed a key stumping chance in that final over. Shahbaz bowled a peach to beat Mohit Sharma, who inadvertently deflected the ball off his back pad, and Pant failed to collect it cleanly.
