The Royal Challengers Bengaluru star pacer Yash Dayal hasbeen hooked with an FIR regarding the sexual harassment case, as logged by a woman from Ghaziabad who claimed to be his girlfriend for a few years. The FIR has been lodged under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Indirapuram police station after a preliminary investigation was conducted following a complaint filed via the Chief Minister's grievance portal, IGRS. Section 69 of the BNS pertains to sexual offences involving deceit—where the alleged victim is misled with false promises of marriage or employment. The law treats such acts as a form of aggravated fraud, punishable by up to ten years in prison. The woman claims she was in a five-year relationship with Dayal, during which she alleges repeated emotional, physical, and financial abuse. According to the complainant, Dayal introduced her to his family and often acted as her husband in social settings, strengthening her belief in their future together. However, things reportedly turned hostile when she sought clarity on marriage. The woman alleged that Dayal responded with aggression and continued harassment. She stated that she has retained multiple forms of digital proof—chat transcripts, call logs, video recordings, and photographs—to support her case. The woman also alleged that Dayal may have treated other women similarly. As of now, Dayal and his family have not released any official statement. The Ghaziabad police confirmed that the investigation is in its early stages and further action will follow based on corroborated evidence. Dayal, 26, was part of RCB’s historic Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 title-winning campaign. The left-arm seamer claimed 13 wickets, including crucial spells in the death overs. His performances earned him a maiden India call-up last year for a home series against Bangladesh, though he is yet to debut at the international level. The development comes as a serious reputational blow to both the player and his franchise ahead of the domestic season.
