Pakistan women's cricket team captain Fatima Sana will return to Karachi on Thursday boarding the earliest available flight as her father passed away, PCB said in a statement. She would most probably miss her side's remaining match against Australia in Dubai on Friday. Muneeba Ali will lead the Pakistan Women;s Cricket team in the absence of Fatima Sana. Sana's absence from the game turns out to be a big minus for Pakistan, who need to win at least one, and if possible, both their remaining games, to have an opportunity of reaching the semi-finals in a tough Group A. Currently, Pakistan find themselves third in the group, with one win and one loss from its two matches so far played. Next is New Zealand, who will be waiting at Dubai on Monday, after Australia. She scored 30 runs and took two big wickets, of which Chamari Athapaththu was the most important, while defeating Asian Cup winner Sri Lanka in an exciting match. Sana also played a crucial role in the match against India, taking back-to-back wickets of Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh, which indeed did give the Indian team some discomfort and helped Pakistan to maintain a decent net run rate. Ever since she became captain, Sana has tried to change Pakistan's approach too. She has ensured that she keeps an eye on using data to enhance their batting strategy.
